Thought I’d start this blog with an illustration to commemorate Malaysia’s Independence Day, or Merdeka Day, featuring none other than Seventeen, the protagonist of my Helpful Robot book. All the work literally happened on Merdeka Day itself (which is August 31st), a bit last minute but couldn’t be avoided, the idea only came to me two days before. Typical! What was supposed to be a poster became a paper cut-out image instead, still happy with the rendering though. Trying out a new vector-ish style, will practice some more. Hmm.
